| As
we opened our doors just a few days ago, we don't yet have product to show you.
However, we can tell you what's in store. A
Word About Nomenclature We
decided to use a military-style classification system which makes it easy to identify
any product simply by its designator. There may be a few exceptions to the rule
as time goes by, but we promise to do our best to keep those to a minimum. Here's
a breakdown of our system: DN
- the first two letters should be obvious, and will represent the company's name. Third
Letter The
third letter will represent the type of unit: A
- amplifier, technically an integrated amplifier with both pre- and power amp
sections. Thus, for amps, the first three letter simply mirror the company's initials.
(Neat, huh?) Therefore, all amps will begin with DNA. S
- speaker cabinet. 'Nuff said. Cabs start with DNS. C
- Combo amplifiers begin with DNC. Speaker
Enumeration Continuing
with the common practice, we will list the number of speakers, followed by the
speaker diameter. (See below.) Speaker
Suffixes There
are currently two possible suffixes, as follows: N
- Neodymium magnet variant. Thankfully, our neo-powered drivers beautifully replicate
our standard drivers, which makes them an easy swap. MICRO
- This designator will go to cabinets that are designed to be as small as feasibly
possible. They won't have the same bottom-end strength as the standard sized variant,
but for some that isn't the most important factor. DNA
Series Amplifiers This
is an area that we're going to keep under wraps for a while longer. For now, suffice
to say that we've named this operation THREE BEARS, after the bear family in the
Goldylocks story. See, there's a baby amp, and a mid-sized amp, and big ol' honkin'
brick of a Daddy Amp. For now, we're on a Need-to-Know basis, and that's all you
need to know, OK? Special
Note: We
weren't really serious about that last bit. In fact, as soon as we get the forum
up and running, we'll start asking you all sorts of questions about what you want
in an amp. We'll also be posting S.E.A.L. Team (Special Evaluation And Liaison
Team) reports from the field.
DNS
Series Speaker Cabinets The
first products you'll see from David Nordschow Amplification are speaker cabinets.
Our S.E.A.L. Team is currently putting these test units through their paces. They'll
be taking a lot of notes, and reporting back to us. We'll use this information
to further tune the enclosures. (This is the same way David used to do it back
in the day. We're just sayin'...) Here
is the full lineup of DNS series cabinets scheduled in PHASE I:
DNS110
DNS112N DNS112N MICRO DNS115N DNS210 DNS410
DNC Series Combos
This is the part of the product line where things are going to get really
interesting. Our plan includes some very exciting and interestingly different
products. Because all of these ideas are in the early stages of development, we
have not finalized nomenclature for this product group. As soon as we do, we'll
let you know. More
